With a career spanning engineering to astronautics, Ed Gibson has been at the forefront of some of the most significant moments in space exploration history.
Ed earned his BS in Engineering from the University of Rochester in 1959, followed by an MS and Ph.D. in Engineering and Physics from the California Institute of Technology. In 1966, Ed’s journey into space began when NASA selected him as one of the first Scientist Astronauts out of 1,100 applicants. He earned his Air Force wings in 1967 and accumulated over 2,200 hours in high-performance aircraft, 100 hours in helicopters, and an impressive 2,017 hours in space.
